Urban Canine staffs only true animal lovers for dog walking, and many precautionary steps are taken before anyone is hired. References are verified; one-on-one interviews are conducted, criminal background checks performed and doggie-interaction skills tested before we decide on any candidate. Additionally, each dog walker candidate will receive thorough training and we will observe their canine handling skills closely, and see exactly how the doggies react to them. Doggie intuition is pretty powerful and your pups will assist in making any final decisions in the hiring process. We make sure that we are sending out only the most reliable, dependable and trustworthy people to care for your pets. Incidentally, over 90% of Urban Canine’s employees past and present are college educated. Not a requirement, but the type of individual we look for in a Dog Walker tend to have that on their resume.

Urban Canine customers will be assigned a dog walker for each scheduled walk. Should your primary walker get sick, go on vacation, or leave the service for any reason, we will provide you with a replacement walker from the Urban Canine staff. You will not be without service at any time. You may also request to set up a time to meet your dog walker personally if you wish.
